She was handed responsibility before she was handed a choice. First Daughter Files documents the women who went first. The ones who carried the family name, managed the household expectations, and still had to figure out who they were outside of all of that. If you have ever felt the weight of being the one everyone leans on, or wondered what it costs to build your own life while holding everyone else's together, these stories were documented for you. This is the series that makes room for what that costs, what it clarifies, and what it eventually becomes.

Founders in Focus

This is not the pitch deck version. Founders in Focus documents female founders at the private interior of building. The rewrites of self that happen alongside the rewrites of the product. The decisions made in uncertainty, the seasons of doubt nobody saw, and the specific women doing that work inside the specific companies they are shaping. If you are building something and wondering whether anyone else has survived what you are currently going through, this series exists to answer that question honestly. These stories do not celebrate arrival. They document the journey of becoming the person capable of building the thing.

Joy Olawumi is a product marketing strategist, a firstborn daughter, and the founder of Folio Her. She is twenty four years old and has spent the past several years building brands, positioning products, and telling stories for early-stage companies across Africa.

She knows what it means to carry responsibility before you are ready for it. She knows what it means to build quietly, to figure out who you are while also figuring out what you are building, and to discover that the two things are not separate questions at all.

Folio Her was not built from observation. It was built from lived experience. The identity that shaped her ambition to build this platform is the same identity this platform exists to document. That loop, that continuous reshaping, is why this exists.
