Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti and the Women Who Made Power Listen

Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti was more than a nationalist, educator or women’s rights activist. In 1940s Abeokuta, she helped organise thousands of women into a political force powerful enough to challenge taxation, traditional authority and colonial structures. Her story is one of courage, organising and a refusal to accept that women should remain outside the rooms where decisions were made.
